June Grief Support Gathering: A Seat to honor dad
On FRIDAY, June 5, we invite bereaved fathers to pause, breathe, and receive care—through a simple, meaningful act: a haircut and shave with other fathers traveling a similar journey.
Grief often weighs heavily on fathers, who may feel pressure to remain strong and silent. But research shows that emotional expression and support are vital to healing. Gentle, touch-based care like grooming can ease tension, restore dignity, and create space for connection—without needing to say a word.
In Hawaiian culture, kāne are protectors and pillars of the ‘ohana. At this gathering, we honor grieving dads with a seat of rest and reflection. Come as you are. Be seen. Be cared for.
