About the Event
It's widely called a "Haku lei" in hawaii, but we actually mean- a "lei Po'o", a lei for the head. The lei Po'o we will be making will be using the "Wili" or winding method. (The "Haku" method uses a braded Ti leaf to hold the flowers.)
We will share a moment together to create with the flora and learn a bit of what our Kumu Cody teaches around the way to honor this traditional Hawaiian practice. After this class you will have the basics down of how to create a lei po'o whenever you wish.
INCLUDED in your class:
Rafia for winding
Clippers to share (please bring your own if you have them)
Variety of local flora
