About the Event

It's widely called a "Haku lei" in hawaii, but we actually mean- a "lei Po'o", a lei for the head.  The lei Po'o we will be making will be using the "Wili" or winding method. (The "Haku" method uses a braded Ti leaf to hold the flowers.)

We will share a moment together to create with the flora and learn a bit of what our Kumu Cody teaches around the way to honor this traditional Hawaiian practice.  After this class you will have the basics down of how to create a lei po'o whenever you wish.

INCLUDED in your class:

  • Rafia for winding
  • Clippers to share (please bring your own if you have them)
  • Variety of local flora
  • Design Instruction

Please feel free to bring any special blooms or ferns you would like to include in your lei po'o!  Of course you may bring more to share if your yard is in abundance.  Feel free to contact Gabby at gabby@letgracein.org or at 808-216-4008. We would love to know if you are able to bring any extra flowers (orchids, antherium, bougainvillea, palapali fern, hibiscus, gardenia, roses, or other hardy blooms or ferns)

Our class will be limited to no more than 20 persons total.  We will be in Covid compliance for everyone's saftey.
