NOVEMBER therapeutic event: Beach House

November's monthly therapeutic event is a day at this Laie beach house where LGI families can have some extended time together to soak in nature and connect with one another. The entire LGI team will be at this event, lunch will be provided as well as optional activities throughout the day.  Space is limited.

Research shows that "exposure to nature has been linked to a host of benefits, including improved attention, lower stress, better mood, reduced risk of psychiatric disorders and even upticks in empathy and cooperation." Apr 1, 2020 

"As children and young people experience the ups and downs and uncertainty of their loss and grief, giving them the opportunity to be in nature can provide a much-needed stable base from which they can begin to process and explore their feelings." Apr 12, 2021 Bieng with other families who have expirienced similar loss offers a supportive setting for one another as it is an environment which is safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate.

*** Please bring everything you would to enjoy a day at the beach.  Chairs or a mat for the sand or grass, sun protection, refillable water bottle, sand toys, change of clothes, etc.
