October Weaving Lauhala Anthuriums Event

For our October Monthly Event, families are invited to gather for a hands-on Weaving Lauhala Anthuriums Workshop with Kumu Naomi Nascimento, a lauhala weaver based in Hilo. Together, we will learn the cultural practice of ulana lauhala and create woven anthuriums while experiencing weaving as a grounding, reflective, and healing practice. To help everyone have the best experience, we recommend this workshop for keiki ages 12 and older, as weaving requires patience, concentration, and the ability to follow verbal instruction. If you feel your younger child 9 or older, is ready for this experience, they are welcome to participate with a parent providing hands-on assistance throughout the workshop. We are welcoming two participants per 'ohana.
