About the Event
Join us for a special private performance of "Peace On Your Wings," a musical by Ohana Arts Youth Theatre Company, inspired by Sadako Sasaki’s legacy. Sadako was a young girl who survived the Hiroshima atomic bomb but later developed leukemia due to radiation exposure. She began folding 1,000 paper cranes, believing it would grant her a wish, but passed away before completing them. Her story symbolizes hope and resilience in the face of childhood cancer.
This event aims to raise awareness about pediatric cancer and support organizations working for children and families in Hawai‘i.
Children are invited to attend. Please be aware that the event will run for approximately 2.5 hours, and it is recommended for children aged 8 and older due to its duration and timing. Please note that there is a poignant scene in the musical that addresses the theme of death of the child.
