About the Event
Forest Bathing, is good for both physical and mental wellbeing. It is proven to reduce stress hormone production, improve feelings of happiness and free up creativity, as well as lower heart rate and blood pressure, boost the immune system and accelerate recovery from illness. We will be tapping into the weath of our island and allowin ourselves to be fully present in nature.
Our guide will be Lizabeth Kashinsky who has been working in the field of conservation in Hawaii since 1995. Through her work, she has had the great privilege of working for several weeks at a time at remote field stations within the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument. Her experiences living and working at some of the most remote islands on the planet with very limited contact with the outside world allowed her to experience life changing deep connections with wild nature, inspiring her to pursue a Master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology with an emphasis in Ecopsychology. She is also a RYT 500 with the Yoga Alliance, and holds an Ecotherapy Certification with EarthBody Institute. When not working her day job managing Hawaiian monk seal and sea turtle research projects, she works with individuals and groups leading yoga and ecopsycology classes, workshops, and retreats, with the intention of deeping our connections with self, each other, and nature.
Lyon Arboretum is part of the University of Hawaiʻi and a public botanical garden. Lyon Arboretum has over seven miles of hiking trails and boasts more than 6,000 taxa of tropical and sub-tropical plants on our nearly 200 acres. Lyon Arboretum is closed to the public on Saturdays and will be doing this private event for Let Grace In- we are so grateful.
